Growing conditions: Moist, well drained soil. Keep well mulched.
Origin: Japan
The variegated foliage is most intensely-coloured when it's grown in full sun and it benefits from being cut back to ground level in winter to encourage a fresh production of foliage the following spring.
It's most suitable for growing in a container where it can be easily and reliably controlled.
