Commonly known as Port-wine Magnolia.

A highly regarded ornamental plant used for hedges or screening with scented flowers like bubble gum, it is ideally planted where you can enjoy the beautiful fragrance near the deck or patio would be perfect. It looks great in pots, tubs or planters but is best used as a hedge. A light trim after flowering will help keep the plant tidy, in good shape and promote flowering the following season. Prefers a slightly acidic well drained moist soil, it has good salt and light frost tolerance and is therefore adaptable to most regions in Australia. Once fully established it is quite drought tolerant however a good layer of mulch will stop the soil from drying out in between waterings. 

We recommend a good organic fertliser twice a year to keep the plant nice and healthy.
