Heliconia orthotricha 'Coconut Ice'
Bright pink bracts with white base and dark green lip. Like many of the orthotrichas, the surface of the bracts have fine velvety hairs.
Typical height: 1.5 to 2.5m
Climate: Grows best in tropical & subtropical climates - frost free
Light conditions: Full sun to part shade
Growth habit: Clumping, slightly weeping
Growing conditions: Moist well drained soil, rich in organic matter
Flowers: Autumn / Winter
Great for cut flowers. Prefers moist, well drained soils rich in organic matter. Part shade or protection from the hot afternoon sun. Grows well in cooler climates.
