Eucharis grandiflora (Amazon Lily)
A shade-loving lily with wonderfully rich green foliage which products sprays of white scented flowers throughout the warmer months of the year. An easy to grow plant both in the garden and in pots.
Typical height: 50 to 70cm
Climate: Prefers tropical or subtropical climates, or warm protected positions in temperate climate.
Light conditions: Part shade / shade
Growth habit: Grows from bulbs
Growing conditions: Moist rich soil
Flowers: Spring through to Autumn
Origin: Equador
The Amazon Lily will grow best in warmer tropical climates. It will grow in cooler climates in Australia but may go dormant during winter, whereby it is often best to lift the bulbs and store over the winter period for planting again in Spring.
