Little rainforest palm native to Mexico and Central America. Tough variety with dark green glossy foliage, having cane-like stems ringed with scars which resemble bamboo. Naturally spreads by offshoots.

As an air purifier it removes benzene, carbon monoxide and formaldehyde from the air.

Produces small round fruit to 8mm in diameter, turning from orange to black when mature. Chamaedorea are dioecious plants meaning that male and female flower are borne on separate plants. Fast growing palm suitable for use as a privacy or screening plant.
