A popular, medium sized spreading ornamental tree, with wood of great durability and strength. A stunning sight in full flower, the trees are almost completely bare of foliage. Emerging from branches are striking flower clusters 40-50cm in length, which literally drip down from older wood and are carried on long generous racemes in the brightest golden colours.

The blooms are considered by many cultures to bring happiness and good luck. Young trees have smooth greyish bark later turning to a rough darker brown as they age. An easy to grow and relatively tough tree which is also drought and slightly salt tolerant.
