Begonia 'Sophie Cecile'
A cane stemmed begonia with dark green leaves, marked with silver spots. Deep blood-red undersides of leaves. Light pink flowers. A great pot plant or understory filler.

Minimum temperature tolerance: Frost free
Climate: Prefers tropical or sub-tropical climates or warm protected positions in temperate climates
Light conditions: Part shade
Growing conditions: Moist, well drained soil
Flowers: Most of the year
A beautiful Begonia hybridised in 1961 by Beva Neslon. Cross between the cultivar Begonia "Lenore Oliver' and the species Begonia acontifolia.
Not as sensitive to light like Rex begonias. Likes bright filtered light. Responds well to liquid and slow release fertilisers with extra potassium to help boost colour. Water when the first inch or two of potting mix feels dry to the touch. Avoid overwatering especially during the cooler months.
