The Striated Buddha's Belly is a bit smaller than the standard Giant Buddha's Belly, but its still quite open clumping, so do give it some space to grow. Typical clump size of 1 to 1.5m after 5 to 10 years, so don't plant it to close to any fences or buildings (ie. at least 1m away). Like most bamboos, the clump size can be kept smaller by breaking off new shoots that emerge on the outside perimeter of clump, leaving those shoots within the clump to grow up - this is easy work if done as soon as the new shoots come up from the ground.
