Bambusa maculata (Pring Tutul)

Nice looking plant which produces timber which dries to an unusual mottled pattern of brown spots spread over the whole culm. Used extensively in Indonesia for furniture making, where the timber is usually referred to as 'Tiger Bamboo'.

Tutul - meaning spots. Culms have high contrasting dark blotches when dry. Giant variety of bamboo suitable for collectors and bamboo enthusiasts. Makes an excellent windbreak, soil stabiliser, landslip control and as a stockfeed. Looks great in mixed plantings with other unique tropical plants.
